Hello Southeastern Visitors,
I just want to take a moment and introduce myself as the new Standards Chair for ACA, Southeastern. I have met many of you through the years at conferences, events, and visits and I am truly pleased to be able to serve our region.
As the camp director at High Meadows in Roswell, GA for the past 15 years, I have had many opportunities to get involved with the ACA. In addition to being a Standards Visitor and Instructor, I currently serve on the Local Council of Leaders as Vice-Chair of Resources and I am a member of the National Standards Commission.
I have had the good fortune of working closely with Genie Gunn and Cyndi Satlow over the past few years to see how the standards program is administered, and I am pleased to announce that Diane DiCerbo of Florida will be joining our team as the Standards Co-Chair. Diane has a long history of service to ACA, starting her membership in 1993. She also serves as a Standards Visitor, Instructor and more recently, an Associate Trainer. Diane is also a part of the Southeastern Membership Welcome Committee.
Together we hope to continue the high level of service, professionalism, and passion for quality camp programs that are characteristic of our region. These are exciting times for standards (Yeah!). New initiatives from ACA, Inc., emerging societal trends and greater public exposure are giving us the opportunity to review, refine, and reenergize the accreditation process.
I thank each of you for your commitment. We have a great community in the Southeast, united by the common goal of promoting quality camp programs.
If there is anything we can do to help you, if you have any questions, or if you want to know how to get more involved, please do not hesitate to contact us!
Many thanks to Genie Gunn for her time and commitment to the Standards Program – your time and dedication is greatly appreciated
